Okay, thanks for the clarification.  Two comments:
1) I didn't post to the developers group originally, because of the 
following warning in the list description:
        This list is only for discussion of development issues in the Fedora 
Project.
        THIS IS NOT A SUPPORT LIST. THIS LIST IS FOR CORE DEVELOPMENT 
DISCUSSION ONLY.
    Sounds like I misinterpreted it, will repost to that list as well.
2) The bug is a kernel bug, not an Xorg bug.  It causes Xorg to fail (and 
presumably other applications).
