I have been reading this thread and saving it for a few days until I
could try this webcam. I show the following yum installs in this
mornings log, the result of yesterdays install, however 'locate gspcav1'
produces only an rpm and two doc files? I have no assurance that they
are actually installed other than the log report? [Rpm -Uvh gspcav1
reports that it's already installed?]

Packages Installed:

    gspcav1.i386 1.00.04-2.fc6.at
    gspcav1-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.i686 1.00.04-2.fc6.at

lsusb yields:

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:0870 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 03f0:0701 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 5300c/5370c
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

So apparently the camera is connected.

I searched yumex for 'webcam' and cam up with 'camE' I asked it to
install along with whatever else looked like it might be useful.

CamE has no man page, only a sample configuration file with notations
which leave me with some uncertainty. Perhaps there is something better
I should use?

Running camE without the configuration file produces the error message
that it can not find /dev/video and neither can I.

I'm not sure exactly what to ask at this point but any suggestions are
welcomed.
