Unable to use floppy dirve

Did you attempt to mount the floppy drive?

sudo mount /dev/fd0 (assuming that your floppy is fd0 of course)

What happens when you attempt this. Is the floppy already
formatted? You may need to pass the FS to mount, but it may pick it
up on its own.
