Starting dhcpd

[root at linux ~]# chkconfig --list dhcpd
dhcpd           0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
In response to Steven Pasternak  regarding su or su - I logged in with
su - also tried it with the gui interface to start services and all it
does is "spin" for ever pretending it is try to start.  Selinux is
already set to permissive.
I'll take a look at the archive to see if there is a clue there to the
problem
