[Fedora] setting the kernel default

I did change the default kernel in grub.conf  - that was good, thanks
Ashley.

I'm sure a log of what went wrong would be useful for alot of folks (I'd
like to see it myself).
So, how do I get an output of OOPS? I checked /var/log/*.oops but there is
nothing there.
