According to http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/sc64__/sc64__pg.pdf :

"You can also clean the print head by holding down the ink button on
the printer for three seconds. (This only works when the red ink light
is off.)"

Not the answer you were looking for, but maybe it will help?  Epsons
usually have button sequences to print the nozzle checks, test pages,
etc also.
