VMWare Server: No audio device in Windows XP guest

For the archives:

VMWare Server does not automatically add an audio device. With the VM
shutdown, go here:

VM -> Settings -> Hardware -> Add -> Audio Device

Choose the default options, then in the Windows XP VM, right click on
My Computer:

Control Panel -> Add Hardware -> "Yes, I have already connected the
hardware" -> "SoundBlaster 16 or AWE 32 or compatible (WDM)" -> OK,
OK, OK

Done!
