For starters try mounting it manually. It will appear as an sd. If you 
have no devices that are sd's then the first sd device would be /dev/sda 
and the first available device on /dev/sda would be /dev/sda0. Try 

mount -t vfat /dev/sda0 /mnt/camera

Then add what everyone else is suggesting. :-)
