How to do a rpm database recovery.

Yum dit install updates.
But the next day, i was notified off exact the same amound of updates.
I looked carefully when updating;

After downloading when there is a bar with configuring packages;
the bar disapeered and no messages completed installating packages came
up.

So i tryed to do it with updating packages - the same
I tryed in a terminal window with rpm - i get:

PANIC fatal region error detected; run recovery
error: db4 error (-30977) from dbenv -> open: DB_RUNRECOVERY;
Fatal error, run database recovery
Cannot open Packages database in /usr/lib/rpm.

Question: How do i run a rpm-database recovery ???
