FC5 fails to boot with BT878 card

Did you try putting it back in the problem box?  It could have been a
problem of the card being mis-seated, they can shift around, especially
if you move a box, or it goes through temperature changes.

It can be worth trying a card in a different slot, some slots share
IRQs, and some things do not share nicely.  Changes in software, over
time, may have had an effect on how well things share.
