If you just didn't want to waste drive space, and didn't mind keeping
things temporarily, you could fetch, read, and then use a filter to
delete read mail before you quit.
But we don't know why you don't want to store messages locally.

Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.
I read messages from the public lists.
