gallery2 - installation problem

Is anyone successfully using gallery2 under Fedora-6?

Having installed gallery2 with "yum install gallery2*"
when I enter the first (Authenticate) step
I get the message
"Error: could not locate login.txt"
even though the correct login.txt is in the same gallery2 directory
as main.php, as advised.

I've googled for this message, and found many hits,
but nowhere have I seen a coherent solution.
