I haven't done an update, mine was a fresh install, but the first thing
that springs to mind is:  Are you using a font that's provided with FC6?
I suppose you could have been set to use some other font, and it's
trying to use what it thinks is an equivelent, but doesn't quite fit the

(This box runs FC5, my others run FC4 & FC6, in case that's
 important to the thread.)
