new usb problem with livna kernel

i just found out this is not isolated to the newest kernel
(kernel-2.6.19-1.2895.fc6) on my system. i had another kernel
(kernel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6) and booted with it - same problem.
still getting:

usb 1-3: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 9
usb 1-3: device not accepting address 9, error -62

wow - just figured it out - it's an SELinux problem. i disabled it and
now the usb is working. why would this have occured?
