Screensaver disabled, screen still blanks

Trouble is, the Laptop Battery doesn't give me any options to control the 
screen blanking... no matter what I select the screen still blanks.  The 
only thing I get at the Power Control tab is that "Your computer seems to 
have a partial ACPI installation" messaage.
