Well, it didn't get there by my laptop accepting incoming mail
connections, thats for sure. Depending on the e-mail address, it was
because an ISP's mail server accepted and stored it, because my web
hosting company accepted and stored it, or because a free e-mail
service accepted and stored it. None of witch required that any of
my machines accept incoming mail connections. Instead, my mail
client initiated a connection to their server, and retrieved my
mail. If you look into it, you will discover that this is how most
people get their e-mail - they connect to a server run by someone else.
