I suppose that this means that you have your UPS configured to
signal imminent power loss at 5%, and that's when you system
shuts down. Hmm. 5% of 30 minutes is 1.5 minutes. Can your
system reliably shut down in 1.5 minutes? Mine cannot.

What has this to do with monitoring line conditions or other
extended conversations with the UPS?
