Well, even if I could run 64bit I need it to be 32bit because of some drivers 
which I use that only come in 32bit versions (closed source).

Meanwhile I tried upgrading another PC and that fails too with the F8 DVD.

I have given up on F8 after 3 systems failing to upgrade. Hopefully some fixed 
DVD images will be available soon.
