slocate and NFS, the perrenial problem.

Hi, all.

I have several NFS servers, and the ability to run locate
on their shares, in a centralized database, would be a great thing. 
The only real block to doing it is, of course, root_squash,
and this was a proposed challenge for one Google summer of code event.

If I could just concatenate the databases, my work would be done.
Does anyone know how to do that?
