If I were who broke into your system and I left something under /tmp, I'd name 
it with .whatever, so you only would be able to see it with ls -a

Anyways, the best start should telling us what things or what signals are 
making you think that your system has been hacked, please try to be as much 
verbatim as you can if you expect us to help you.

Sending the content of the /tmp directory, the output of netstat -p and don't 
say anything further will not help too much to try to find whatever you 
problem is...
