This should not be necessary -- please use the drivers shipped with
the Fedora kernel if at all possible.  Otherwise you are isolating
yourself from the normal support channels.

Are you _sure_ you have the 3945 hardware?  It is very unlikely that
the iwl4965 driver would get loaded automatically if you did not have
the corresponding hardware.

Please post the output of running 'lspci'.

P.S.  FWIW, there is no version of the 3945 that support 802.11n.
