Anacron delay

I'm sure that I remember a thread from a long time ago about a delay being 
introduced into anacron.  On my rawhide box the delay does seem rather 
extreme, particularly since it doesn't necessarily run as many hours as the 
other boxes.  Is there some way to influence this?
