F7->F8 sound very quiet after udpatee

I would go to system administration sound, and check the slider to make sure it is at or close to the extreme right.

When you right-click on the volume control icon/slider at the top right (gnome), you will also note other volume control elements, check that these are set properly to give you good output volume.
