I'm using fedora 8 with kernel 2.6.23.15-137.fc8
I found docs about support in ov51x-jpeg kernel module.
I compiled and installed kernel module for ov51x-jpeg, version 1.5.6
In my xorg.xonf I have
Section "Module"
  Load "dri"
  Load "v4l"
  Load "extmod"
  Load "freetype"
  Load "glx"
  Load "GLcore"
  Load "type1"
  Load "dbe"
  Load "vbe"
EndSection

when I make a modprobe ov51x-jpeg I get in /var/log/messages
Feb 16 02:37:30 tekkaman kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver
ov51x
Feb 16 02:37:30 tekkaman kernel: /home/gcecchi/ov51x-jpeg-1.5.6/ov51x-
jpeg-core.c: 1.5.6 : ov51x USB Camera Driver

But the camera led still remains off
the /dev/video0 device was not created automatically, but also creating it
manually as
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 81, 0 2008-02-16 02:33 /dev/video0

lsmod gives

I don't get any webcam application to work. Tried with ekiga, mplayer and
skype 2.0.43 beta.
for example:
[gcecchi at tekkaman ~]$ mplayer tv:// -tv

Any hints to get it work?
Thanks in advance,
