printk kernel messages??

No I cannot.  I've grepd for printk in all of the messages* files, and the only message 
that shows up is the  "kernel: printk: 2 messages suppressed." type message.  I did notice 
that the first showed up Jan 5, but then didn't have any till Jan 21.

messages-20080106:Jan  5 23:32:05 dufus kernel: printk: 2 messages suppressed.
messages-20080127:Jan 21 07:44:06 dufus kernel: printk: 3 messages suppressed.
messages-20080127:Jan 21 07:44:10 dufus kernel: printk: 1 messages suppressed.
messages-20080127:Jan 21 07:44:16 dufus kernel: printk: 2 messages suppressed.

Yum log show that nothing was updated the 20th.

Strange.  I know that my printing problems are not kernel print statements, its just that 
event caused me to look at the logs.
