If THIS is your problem, just reinstall mesa.

Here I have a MacBook Pro with X1600 256MB running Fedora 8.
Livna driver works flawless, but compiz don't work with fglrx onw library.

Reinstall mesa is the fastest way to get Fedora 8 + Compiz + fglrx.
