vim syntax highlighting for PL/I

I extracted the syntax PLI.vim file, but when I use :so ... the file, I get
an error about invalid ^M....

I'm thinking that's related to MS Windows file format vs Linux.... and maybe
the lines end with 0x0d0a instead of just 0x0a ... Does that sound right?
And if so, what's the best way to "correct" the file?
