Re: Fedora 9 32 or 64 Bit - Which One?

I apologize if this question has been asked before. I have a new

assume I can install the 64 bit version of Fedora 9. My question is
what are the pros and cons that I need to consider when choosing 32 or
64 bit version of Fedora 9? I am currently using a Thinkpad T42
running Fedora Core 7, so I have no experience with 64 bit linux or
associated issues.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

64 bit is a minor hassle - flash for instance, and screwing around with multilibs. OTOH, if you want to use more than 4gb mem - or have an application where it really makes a difference it's not too bad.

When I looked, I couldn't find any app I used where 64bit was useful, even ffmpeg. At the time, though, I could find very little data on this.

IOW, stick with 32bit unless you've got some real 64bit benefit.
