mplayer stop XScreenSaver ignored

I have the same problem in F12 with
mplayer-1.0-0.111.20091029svn.fc12.x86_64 and Nvidia driver 190.42.  It
started sometime in the last few months as when I originally used the
option, it worked.  I'm using the -stop-screensaver option with
command-line mplayer.
