Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora.

Put in the /etc/yum.conf the following lines:

proxy=http://<PROXY_IP>:<PROXY_PORT>
proxy_username=<YOUR_USERNAME>
proxy_password=<YOUR_PASSWORD>

then execute as root: # yum update
