	I was indeed, and I agree; in fact, the example I made up was 
intended to illustrate (however unsuccessfully) something that all 
involved, including the poster making the change, would agree *was* a 
change.

	What I then tried to ask for was some trivially easy method -- a 
pons asinorum, if you like -- to urge new posters to get and use. (They 
might, of course, have vast subject expertise; consider a list devoted to 
the history of Finnish grammar. (I don't recall offhand whether one 
exists.)) 

	But alas!, the question itself either fell between the cracks, or 
nobody knows of one ...
