I don't have that problem.  Which release are you using?  I'm still on
Fedora 9.

What about your other settings in gnome sound preferences?  I changed
the devices used for sound events, and the rest, to all use "PulseAudio
Sound Server".

Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.  I
read messages from the public lists.
