database mess up

Hello

How would you change the blocksize ?
As I said I have /usr /usr/lib, /usr/local /tmp /home on separated 
partitions and I do not see any reason for now to change them.
I try to only mount / from a fc6 partition on /mntlinux
than tar -cvzf slash.tzg /mnt/linux --selinux
on another partition.
then mke2fs -b 4096 /dev/hda14
tune2fs -j /dev/hda14
mount the / on the same partition as before
and tar -xvzf slash.tgz
grub-install
fix the /mnt/linux/etc/fstab
but it did boot.
It looks like that it is a problem with the initrd !
