Okay. It seems that the tarball already contains some compiled object
files. You are probably running a 32-bit distribution.

Try this:

$ cd bpmpd_c/src
$ \rm *.o
$ sed -i "s|CLK_TCK|CLOCKS_PER_SEC|g" timer.c 
(One file uses an obsolete constant that needs to be replaced)
$ make
--
