Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-1051
2006-10-24
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Product : Fedora Core 5
Name : iscsi-initiator-utils
Version : 5.2.0.711
Release : 0.1
Summary : iSCSI daemon and utility programs
Description :
The iscsi package provides the server daemon for the iSCSI protocol,
as well as the utility programs used to manage it. iSCSI is a protocol
for distributed disk access using SCSI commands sent over Internet
Protocol networks.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:

This is not compatible with older kernels and releases. You
must upgrade your kernel to a 2.6.18 based kernel if
upgrading to this iscsi-initiator-utils version. Setup files
have moved from /etc to /etc/iscsi and /var/lib/iscsi. While
upgrading to this you also must redicover targets. This will
be the last time because the new node db is upgradable. The
node db in this rpm is compatible with the FC6 node db.

This iscsi-initiator-utils also adds a major change to the
iscsiadm command syntax. Instead of using the record ID to
identify a portal/node, you now pass in the target name and
ip address and port of the portal you want to log into. See
the README and iscsiadm man page for more details.

For people that track upstream,
iscsi-initiator-utils-5.2.0.711-0.1 is based on open-iscsi
svn 2.0-711. It also carries the patch that stores the node
db in /var/lib/iscsi instead of /etc/iscsi.
