The point is that none of the issues raised are blockers.  If you want to make
them blockers, float a proposal in the packaging committee.  I might even vote
for it.  But I'm not going to make Chris change all of his specs when:

1) The extra bits aren't harmful.
2) They're in the template we tell people to use.
3) He's stated that he wants to stick close to the template.

Do I wish Chris would eliminate the unneeded bits?  Yes.  Are they blockers for
his package?  Not until the guidelines change to make them blockers.
