The last I heard was that the original voice talent was having issues with
licensing the sounds under a completely open license.  I believe that the main
issue is that they didn't want the sounds being used in a non-telephony
commercial context (e.g. a TV commercial) because that's how they keep food on
their families tables.

I can understand their concerns but unfortunately commercial use restrictions
like that make it impossible to include the sounds in Fedora.

I'll ping my contact @ Digium and see if there has been any movement lately.
