I don't see the point of renaming the library:
- it's not user-facing
- libmusicbrainz (2.x) will soon be useless when MB turn off their old servers
- libmusicbrainz3 is what it's called upstream

Sound-juicer and rhythmbox are already ported to libmusicbrainz3 and use both.
