In that case you'll have to have a look at the corresponding rpms
in fedora, and contact the maintainer with your patch (through bugzilla)
if the fix isn't already in the fedora/epel rpm. 

The maintainers are listed in the package database, doc is at:

For RHEL you have to grab the srpm and look within.
