(I, in fact, did not test functionality, but I assume removing a standard path
from RPATH doesn't have any impact)

Works for me (el5, but I think I successfully built it in fedora-devel-i386
mock buildroot before).

I'm wondering if mod_avcodec built for you for some reason (ffmpeg-devel
installed?). Could you please attach a strace of failing synfig? Get it with:

"strace -o trace.txt -f synfig -q synfig_icon.sif -o 128x128/synfig_icon.png
--time 0 -w 128 -h 128"
