My mistake. I forgot to log in and update the ticket after the 1.0 release. :)
Yes, the 1.0 rpm's have been out for sometime. Here's the direct link to the
src.rpm and spec, all of which you can find in the url stevel pointed out.

As of the latest release we use system zlib.
