IMHO there's no need to patch anything. Drop the patch and after the install
just remove the examples/.libs directory and the makefiles.

In fact you could as well ship the example binaries, that way one wouldn't need
to compile them to see what they do. They can't be placed in %{_bindir} though,
since they have such generic names.
