Gnome and KDE: Start new Session button?

Hi!

Usually both kde (since 3.1.2 I think) and gnome (since 2.2) have a 
button "Start new session" which opens a new gdm or kdm on F8-F10.
Why are these buttons not on fedora? I think they are very usefull.
