These changes came from the input driver rewrite in 2.6, needing the new
XFree86 driver for evdev handling to get the raw synaptics events.

Yes packages have been made for this, along with quite lengthy discussion which
involved getting needed headers into XFree86 (and in xorg-x11) SDK, also the
latest sources for the driver detect these and use them.

I plan to resync,build and push package shortly, there are quite a few people
who are intrested in having it.

Touchpad has been working for a while with the extra driver - certainly I've
been using it since last summer.  As mentioned above the change was within the
input rewrite.
