segfault inside chroot

running 'strace ls' under the chroot gives these last few lines

write(1, "boot\t    command\t      floppy  m"..., 54boot            
command          floppy  morphix  root           usr
) = 54
munmap(0x55018000, 4096)                = 0
exit_group(0)                           = ?
Segmentation fault

Maybe this has some clues about the problem?
