GUI, Install vs Normal use

Try checking /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Under
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier  "Mouse0"
        Option          "Device" "/dev/psaux"

try changing this to 
        Option      "Device" "/dev/input/mice"

Worked for me in FC2T2
