just to summarize the state of my system:

root localhost rob]# cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora Core release 1.90 (FC2 Test 1)

[root localhost rob]# rpm -q gimp
gimp-1.2.5-1

[root localhost rob]# rpm --redhatprovides libgimp-1.2.so.0
gimp-1.2.5-1

[root localhost rob]# yum update

Server: Fedora Core 1.90 - Development Tree

Downloading needed headers
Resolving dependencies
