Yes you can, but like doing a fresh install there will be some issues to
work through; they might be different issues from doing a fresh install.
Its important to remember tho, if you're going to be reporting bugs to
note your upgrade path could have caused them.  If you're just playing
with the new cool stuff, then by all means try the upgrade first, you
can always reformat for fresh install.
