I've set my ifcfg-eth0 to ONBOOT=no, stopped the 'network' service,
started the NetworkManager service.

ifconfig shows an active link though it displays the below error
message:

"loopback: error fetching interface information: Device not found:"

The good news: the network works fine

The bad news: when i run NetworkManagerInfo from a terminal window, it
displays the icon for about 3 seconds then it disappears. Can the icon
not be run this way? Does it _have_ to be added through the session
manager?
