I'm having the same problem with the kernel module for my Linksys WUSB11 
wireless adapter. I suggest you wait until the driver is fixed to work 
with newer kernels (the problem is caused by some changes in the 
2.6.9-pre kernels) or revert to using the .541 kernel.
